How Apple Health sync works in SynthVitals

Apple Health works through the SynthVitals iPhone app, not the browser alone. That matters because iOS permissions for health categories are granted at the app level, then passed into your SynthVitals account.

Why the mobile app is required

Apple Health permissions are managed on-device. The iOS app is the bridge that lets SynthVitals read categories like workouts, sleep, nutrition, and heart metrics from Apple Health.

How to enable Apple Health

  1. Install the SynthVitals iPhone app from the App Store.
  2. Sign in with the same account you use on the web.
  3. When prompted, allow Apple Health permissions for the categories you want to sync.
  4. Check the Health app if you need to review or expand access later.

Common reasons data is missing

  • The app was installed but Apple Health permissions were denied.
  • The specific category you care about was never enabled in the Health app.
  • The original source app has not written fresh data into Apple Health yet.

Best use cases

Apple Health is especially useful when you want one iPhone-native source for activity, nutrition, and wellness data, or when you want a bridge between multiple apps and a single SynthVitals dashboard.
